One KM or Two KM Open Water Swim at LAKE 86

TriFerris Promotions welcomes you to Cotswold Water Park Hire, Lake 86, which is part of Britain's largest water park; Cotswold Water Park. The Park's lake is usually used for swimming and Paddle Boarding and is a clear gravel bottom lake.

Cotswold Water Park Hire, Lake 86, Spine Road East, Nr Cirencester, GL7 5TL - just off A417/A419 (between Swindon and Cirencester).


From London, the South East and The South West - M4 Junction 15. Take dual carriageway A419/A417 towards Swindon, then follow A417/419 towards Cirencester. After approx 10 miles take B4696 Spine Road, sign-posted Cotswold Water Park. The venue is just on the left before Cotswold Outdoors.

From Wales/Bristol area - Folllow direction above from M4.

From Gloucester area take A417/A419 passing Cirencester and head towards Swindon. Approx four miles from Cirencester turn off at Junction for B4696 Spine Road,sign-posted Cotswold Water Park. The venue is just on the left before Cotswold Outdoors

There will be free parking on site for competitors and spectators. From Lake 86 gates, turn left into field and follow marshal instructions; PLEASE TRY TO SHARE CARS WHERE POSSIBLE.


The Devere Hotel is just 200 meters from venue, see details at or there is camping two miles from swim start at Go-By-Cycle,GL7 6DS. This is a registered campsite with toilet and shower facilities within the site and some electrical hook-ups. Book at No Dogs Allowed. Or visit local tourist info site at visit, or call Cotswold Tourism on 01285 654180.


Registration will be held in Mini Marquee at the swim start at the beach to right of car park 7.20am to 8.15am. Sorry No registration after 8.15am. Before going to register please find your name on the board and remember your number, there will be two queues in number order. At registration you must show some form of photographic identification. You will be issued with a timing band, timing chip and a swim hat which must be worn, you will then have your left hand marked with your number. If you are swimming without a wetsuit please let us know at registration and we will show on results.


Key or Bag storage will be available next to registration in a Mini Marquee.


Please secure your chip to your ankle under your wetsuit if it has long legs. Your timing will be taken as you run UNDER the Finish Banner. Then please give in your chip at the end of the shoot in exchange for your Big Swim Medal.


If you feel unwell on race day please don't race. If you have any medical condition that you have not put on entry form please email details to: Motor boats and canoe crews will be on the water and My Skills For Life will be on shore. If you get into trouble in the water roll onto your back, put you hand in the air and a canoeist will help you. Don't panic or try to climb onto the canoe, hold onto the tail of the canoe and listen for instructions.

The water quality in this clear lake is regularly checked by Cotswold Water Park Hire for your safety. Wetsuits are strongly recommended in both swims and compulsory if temperature under 15C, NO boots or neoprene gloves. Water Temperature as at the 26.5.19 is 18C

Important: If you collect your race pack and then decide not to start or if you stop swimming and exit the water during the event, please inform a member of the crew at the finish area or the registration tent, so we do not think you are still in the water.

You must be at the start line 5 minutes before your start time for a final briefing.

The categories for both men and women are as follows:

16 = Youth 17 - 39 Senior 40 - 49 = Vet 40+ 50 - 59 = Vet 50+ 60 - 80 - Vet 60+  

Please note: Age Category is age At 31/12/19.

THE COURSE - Water Temp

Wetsuits recommended and compulsory if temperature under 15C, NO boots or neoprene gloves. We will update Water Tempurature the week before the event. Tempurature 18C as at 26.5.19


This is located to the right of the finish shoot.

ONE KM SWIM - A one lap course

TWO KM SWIM - A two lap course


The finish is located next to start area, there will be blue flags/finish gantry to sight on at the finish.

Big Swim Medal to all finishers. The prize giving will take place near the finish as soon as last person from the water. Trophies for first three M/F overall, 1st 40+ M/F, first 50+ M/F, first 60+ in both events. One Prize per person so if veteran in top three, vets prize goes to next veteran out of top three. You will be able to get a print out of your results near the finish, then they will be displayed on Saturday evening.

TWO KM TEAM TROPHY for the first three (male or female) from a team to cross the finish in the TWO KM event - cumulative positions will count, lowest score wins. Please make sure you all have the same name under club.


Hot and Cold Food and drink will be on sale.


Please report any lost property/Children to the bag storage marquee.

LATE ENTRIES - There will be some places available on race morning but you must get there by 7.45am and bring cash.
